Refund & Returns Policy

Please read this refund & returns policy carefully.

Last updated: 25 October 2026

1. Introduction

At iNdima Kids, we want our customers to feel informed and confident when purchasing our children's books or booking our event childcare services.

This policy explains how to contact us about returns, damaged or incorrect products, refunds, and cancellations.

It applies to physical products sold by iNdima Kids, including *Dream Big Little Explorer*, and to event childcare bookings where relevant.

Nothing in this policy limits rights available to consumers under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA), or other applicable South African law.

2. Physical Book Orders

Our physical book orders are subject to the product description, price, delivery terms, and applicable checkout conditions displayed when you place your order.

If you receive a book that is damaged, defective, or different from what you ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.

Include:

  • Your name and contact details
  • Your order number or proof of purchase
  • A description of the issue
  • Photographs of the damaged or incorrect item, where appropriate

We will review the information and communicate the next steps.

Where a remedy is required under applicable law, we will provide the remedy to which the customer is entitled. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, this may include repair, replacement, or refund.

3. Defective Goods and Consumer Rights

The CPA provides consumer remedies for goods that fail to meet applicable quality standards.

In particular, section 56 provides statutory remedies for goods that fail to satisfy the applicable implied warranty of quality within six months after delivery, subject to the Act and the circumstances of the case.

Nothing in this policy removes or reduces those statutory rights.

We may reasonably request information or an opportunity to inspect a product to understand the issue, but this will not be used to unlawfully delay or deny a consumer's rights.

4. Returns for Change of Mind

If you wish to return a book because you have changed your mind, please contact us to discuss your request.

Whether a change-of-mind return is available depends on the circumstances, the applicable transaction terms, and any rights provided by law. We do not promise that every change-of-mind request will be accepted.

Certain statutory return or cancellation rights may not apply to every transaction. For example, the ECTA provides exceptions to its online-transaction cooling-off provisions for certain categories, including books. Other legal rights may still apply.

This section does not affect rights relating to defective, unsafe, or incorrectly supplied goods.

5. Incorrect or Damaged Deliveries

If your order arrives damaged or contains the wrong item, please contact us with your order reference and details of the issue.

Please retain the item and packaging while we assess the matter, where reasonably possible.

We will investigate and provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the order.

6. Refund Processing

Where a refund is approved or legally required, we will communicate the next steps and process it in accordance with the applicable requirements.

Where practicable, refunds will be made using the original payment method. If that is not possible, we will contact you to agree on an appropriate lawful arrangement.

The time taken for funds to reflect may depend on the payment provider and financial institution.

We will not impose a refund fee or deduction where doing so would be contrary to applicable law.

7. Delivery Charges and Return Costs

The treatment of delivery charges and return costs will depend on the reason for the return and the applicable legal requirements.

Where a product is defective or incorrectly supplied, the customer's statutory rights will apply. We will communicate any necessary return or collection arrangements.

Any return costs charged to a customer must be consistent with applicable law and the terms that lawfully apply to the transaction.

8. Event Childcare Cancellations and Refunds

Event childcare bookings are different from physical product orders because they involve reserving services for a particular event date.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an event booking, please notify us in writing as soon as possible and include your booking reference.

The applicable cancellation period, deposit arrangements, cancellation charges, rescheduling options, and refund terms should be set out in the quotation or booking terms before confirmation.

If iNdima Kids is unable to provide a confirmed service, we will communicate with the customer and address any refund or other remedy in accordance with the booking agreement and applicable law.

No cancellation fee or deposit forfeiture will apply merely because it is mentioned in this policy; the relevant terms must have been properly disclosed and must be lawful.

Business decision required: iNdima Kids must finalise its actual event cancellation and refund rules before this section is published as a complete policy.

9. How to Request a Return or Refund

Please contact us through the business contact details published on our website.

Include your order or booking reference, the date of purchase or booking, and a clear description of the issue.

We may request additional information reasonably necessary to assess your request.

We will communicate the outcome and any next steps.

10. Exceptions and Statutory Rights

This policy does not exclude any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under South African law.

If a provision of this policy conflicts with a mandatory legal requirement, the applicable legal requirement will prevail.
